Meditation Questions
Romans 1:13-17 The Good News

  1. Paul was writing to believers, but said, “I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.” What did Paul mean? Why do believers need the gospel after they have already believed in Jesus?
  2. Why are some people ashamed of the gospel of Christ? Why was Paul not ashamed?
  3. Explain why the Gospel is “the power of God for salvation.” Who will receive this salvation?
  4. What do the following statements mean? “For in the Gospel the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith.” And, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

Romans 1:18-32 The Bad News

  1. Why will God pour out His wrath and judgment on mankind? Why are they without excuse?
  2. What happens to people who refuse to glorify God or to give thanks to Him?
  3. What happened to human beings? What choices did they make? What decisions did God make?
  4. Verse 28 says that God gave them up to a reprobate mind.” This means a twisted, unclean, and depraved mind that can no longer distinguish between right and wrong. How is this seen in society today.
