Romans 3:19-24 God revealed the way we can become righteous!
- In Romans 3:19-20, what does it mean to be "under the law?" What is the function of the law? Why is it impossible to be justified, or to be made righteous, by the works of the law?
- In Romans 3:21-24, how can we become righteous? Why is there no distinction between Jews and non-Jews?
- Explain Paul’s statement in verse 23, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God?" What does it mean to be "justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus?"
Romans 3:25-26 Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for our sins!
- What is "an atoning sacrifice?" How did Jesus atone for our sins?
- How did God demonstrate His righteousness through the cross? How is God "just" and the One who "justifies" those who have faith in Jesus?
Romans 3:27-31 No boasting!
- Why is God so concerned about boasting? How does the principle of faith exclude boasting?
- How do we uphold the law through the principle of faith?
